Anyone who thinks this will make lowsec 'emptier' obviously has no idea what these players were doing in the first place. They take every gate jump in a shuttle (I know, I've killed loads of the ****ing things) and undock using the invulnerability shield to make sure its 100% safe before proceeding.
These players had already decided NOT to interact with lowsec, by making themselves unprobable. They were literally removing themselves from the grid from the POV of the other players.
This change means the decision is thus: - Do I mission in lowsec for more SP but added risk or - Do I mission in highsec for less SP but little risk?
Which is how it should be. Before, it was "Do I mission in lowsec for more SP and HAHAHAHAHAH i can haz copy-paste from battleclinic special magic no findy fit.
@Ranka - glad to see you posting in this thread. I really will accept contracts for your stuff. I'm sure you'll moan your Tengu is worth less now anyway
As a point of reference and to say it here, I did run missions in an unprobable fit before this change, because you're a baffoon not to. I support this change regardless, as I also spend time on the other side of the coin trying to break others shiney toys

Originally by: Ranka Mei Sorry, dear, but I'd say it's you unprobable boosters who put the kaibash on unprobability, not the lonely mission runner.
The 'lonely' mission runner who just happens to have a massive effect not only on their own wealth, but of the entire LP market itself, at no risk
You can't have your cake and eat it too, not here or anywhere.

Originally by: Trader Hansen CCP's first commandment: Thou shalt click directional scan every 2 seconds like an epileptic with parkinsons.
Anything that goes against this rule shall be nerfed. Heaven forbid CCP actually do something about stopping directional scans from being a repetetive click-fest.
You can now make it so that your ship is only probable with *perfect* probing skills. It will take the prober, likely, several minutes to actually scan you, assuming they're even setup for max probe strength.
You can quite readily fit your ship to stop being a repetitive clickfest (really... once every 20seconds should be enough now). You just can't make it so you're impervious to any harm like a giant Jezebel.

I'm just gonna leave this here: Iteron can't be tanked. News at 11
I'm also just gonna guess that you're Ranka's alt, since her other daily whine is "WAAA NERF SUICIDE GANKING!!"
Hint: you lose around 40% of the ship cost, even on Platinum insurance, not including fittings, that will run you 10-15mil.
If you're carrying all that in a ship that can be one-shot then you're a loon.

Have any of you bunch of whiners actually TRIED to PVP or 'pirate' ... ever?
If you think there is zero risk in jumping someone you've scanned down in a mission space then you know absolutely nothing about the game, or the people seeking to hunt you.
Hint: Bait Drake is bait
It's like trying to discuss with a 5 year old why he can't have any more candy. Shame on all of you. ------ Open Letter to RvB - you are not noob friendly |

Then surely you can just mission with impunity in lowsec or 0.0 with zero risk, as no one will engage.
Common sense, your argument has none. ------ Open Letter to RvB - you are not noob friendly |

Ranka, you're playing a game that STARTED life as one of the most hardcore PVP MMO's that have ever existed.
It has slowly become more palatable for those who can't 'take the heat' to get by without, but that is besides the point.
Eve online is a ****ing PVP centric MMO. The sooner you get that into your skull, the better off you will be.
If you DO want to carebear, you have all of ****ing highsec to do it in. You just cannot expect to head to the PVP areas of the game, reap the higher rewards, and insist on game mechanics that allow you to refuse PVP.
You are literally a spoilt little brat. ------ Open Letter to RvB - you are not noob friendly |

Sure, why not :)
Quote: This has nothing to do about carebearing really, but the fact that once again CCP is unbalancing one side in the favor of another.
Wrong. CCP accidentally introduced the unprobable mechanic, as a byproduct of the previous probing mechanics. Never was it intentional. What they have done, is restore the balance. Why is it balanced? Because it takes several minutes to find you under the new scan scheme (at best) and it takes you only seconds to use DSCAN to assess your risk.
Quote: I ask you, what is he risking really? He knows the ship type. He knows the target's tank. He knows that if its a single drake it's allways a trap, and he knows that he is partially engaged by npc's. The carebear is in fact the pvp'er who wants to scan down these mission runners, because he knows that they aren't there for actual pvp
Wrong. Firstly, Tengus get used more for bait these days than Drakes ever do. Everyone is looking for them, they can out-tank a drake, and a 100mn Tengu can GTFO like mad. You'd know this if you ever did any PVP, of course.
Quote: I bet you that if this type of person ran into someone there for actual pvp, he would run straight to high sec
Hardly mate, the number one complaint about lowsec is there's no one there wanting a fight. The few who hang around turn to ganking mission runners because: a) Your tears and whine are hilarious b) You fit your ships like ******s c) You're basically a flying pinata d) There's not a lot else to do ------ Open Letter to RvB - you are not noob friendly |
